David Joo, P.Eng

With 10+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer specializing in building design and upgrades. Area of focus includes Tenant Improvement, Fire Alarm System Upgrades, Elevator Modernization, and Electrification projects. Always prioritizing clear communication, the goal is to deliver with quality and purpose.

What’s your idea of a perfect day?
An early morning round of golf, lunch at an Italian restaurant with my wife and baby daughter, a quick nap, and then on the ice for hockey at night!

Are you a coffee or tea person?
Coffee! If I’m not making espresso at home, you can probably find me at some new trendy new coffee shop around town.

Faisal Emami, P.Eng

Electrical Engineer with 10+ years in the building industry, specializing in project management and team leadership. Expertise includes Electrical Service Upgrades, Generator Systems, Lighting Design, EV Implementation, and Electrification projects. Strong communicator with a proven track record of aligning client goals with successful project outcomes.

What’s your favourite thing to do on the weekends?
Turning on a good sports podcast and going on a nice run of 10 - 20km.

What 3 items would you take to a deserted island?
I’d bring a hammock to setup for the perfect sunset. Sunscreen because skin protection is important. And a 'Wilson" volleyball to keep me company.

Electrical Designer (EIT)

Clive Fransen, EIT

Clive studied electrical engineering at UBC with previous work experience in at HTEC and ALTEC Integrated Solutions. Areas of focus include drafting, power electronics, control systems, and circuit design. He brings a strong initiative and dedication to detail-oriented work to meet client needs.

If you had to describe how you’re feeling right now as an amusement park ride, what ride are you on?
I’d say that I’m on Splash Mountain, right around where I leave the happy singing animal area and begin to climb upwards to a big fall.

What’s your favorite song or soundtrack for doing focused work?
I must go with Palm Mall by 猫 シ Corp., it makes me nostalgic for simpler times and better prices.

Electrical Designer

Jacob Fu

Jacob is currently in his fourth year of studies in Sustainable Energy Engineering at SFU, with previous co-op experience at Convertus Group.

He is passionate about power distribution, electronics and utilization, especially when it pertains to communities or cleantech applications.  He prioritizes finding optimal solutions to client and industry needs, and is looking forward to learning more about electrical engineering in the built environment.

What toppings are on your ideal pizza?

Caramelized onions, ground beef, spinach, Pesto and chili peppers! The spicier, the better.

What animal do you think best represents your personality?

Crows! Like them, I am loud, love bread and seeds, and are obsessed with pocketing shiny trinkets. 

Electrical Designer (EIT)

Ayzar Farooqui, EIT

Ayzar studied electrical engineering at UBC, with previous work experience at Shift Energy Group and Corvus Energy.

With a strong focus on solar projects, his experience also extends to tenant improvements, fire alarm systems, and elevator modernization.

A hard worker, he's dedicated to detail-oriented work that meets client needs. An avid traveler, he once visited 18 countries in a single year, and when he's not on the road, you'll find him cheering on the Toronto Raptors as a die-hard fan.

Electrical Designer (Co-op)

Kaidin Sheehan-Davies, Co-op

Kaidin is in his final year of Sustainable Energy Engineering at SFU, with previous co-op experience at Terrella Energy Systems as a mechanical engineer, working on bipolar plates for hydrogen fuel cell technology.

Before university, he completed his Level 1 Electrician Apprenticeship through BCIT and worked in the field bringing hands-on practical experience to his technical studies. He is passionate about sustainable power systems and solar technology and looks forward to applying that drive to real-world electrical engineering challenges. If Kaidin can pick one place to live in the world, it would be a house by the ocean in Croatia!

Electrical Designer (Co-op)

Dani Kim, Co-op

Dani is currently in her fourth year of studies in Electrical Engineering at UBC, with previous co-op experience at Metro Vancouver and Tantalus Systems.

Her interests and experience include power systems, energy management, and manufacturing test systems, and she is dedicated to delivering high-quality, practical engineering solutions.

Outside of work, Dani enjoys exploring local hiking trails and reading biographies.
